They have very great and unique view from their summit and some of them
are faithful. Some of the route have rocks, steep slopes and you sometimes
have to get over by equipped ropes or chains.
Elevation is generally from 700 to 1500M.
Gondola is rarely available, so your physical strength is only reliable
and it takes at least 6-7 hours trip and at longest 3days trip depending
on mountains and routes. So check your mountain, route, schedule, gears
and stamina before trekking.
Do you remember Nagano winter Olympic in 1998 ?
Nagano has a lot of 100 famous mountains which provide easy walking for
several hours to professional climbing for several days. If you want several
days' trip, you have to reserve hut in advance.
There are also a lot of easy trekking available near Tokyo.
The mountains near Tokyo give easy access and nice view point for Mt. Fuji.
If you have a little time to stay in a couple of days, the mountains in
Yamanashi, Gumma, and Tochigi prefecture are very recommended.
