From Tanohara to Kongodoshi
Tanohara parking, which is the start point of Otaki route has about 100 cars capacity and located on the outskirts of Mt. Mikasa.
Toilet is also available.
Start at the parking. Otaki route was established by Shinkan, training monk, in 1792 and since then, faithful people started heading for Mt. Ontake on this route.
You are soon beside Tanohara Nature Park.
You can see entire Mt. Ontake and enjoy it.
Route is first flat and unpaved.
Tanohara Daikokuten.
Try to pray for your safe trip.
Here we are in the beginning of stairs.
Gate of Oegongen.
Try to ring the bell here and go ahead.
Pass by Akappage.
From here to the top, you can enjoy trekking with nice view.
We met one of the faithful people with unique clothes.
He moved very fast and quickly like Ninjya.
It is unbelievable to climb up to the top with Tabi, which is Japanese
traditional sox and shoes, but very soft and thin and nearly bare
foot. Is it also one of the training?
Continuous steep route and arrive at 7-Gome, Kongo-doushi.
Overlook from here.
Nothing blocks your sight because Mt. Ontake is independent peak.
So you can enjoy the view from everywhere.
Overlook to Northen, Central, and Southern Alps is particularly great.
Parking and Mt. Mikasa looks very little.
